About Me: Dylan’s Musical Journey
My musical journey began at a young age, largely thanks to my dad’s passion for music, which he instilled in me. From the moment I saw my first ever gig—R.E.M. in Naples, Italy Neapolis Festival. July 24, 2008 —I was hooked. That experience sparked my love for music, and I knew from then on that I wanted to pursue it.
I first picked up the bass guitar, but quickly realised it wasn’t the path to the fame I dreamed of (though it’s a great instrument!). It was the discovery of Keith Richards that truly ignited my passion for the guitar. His style and sound inspired me to focus all my energy on becoming the best guitarist I could be.

Once I felt confident in my skills, I joined a band while studying for my Diploma in Music Performance and Production at college. Of course, this involved playing in front of empty pubs most weekends, but we didn’t let that hold us back. After much hard work and perseverance, we earned the opportunity to open for The Vamps at one of the largest free festivals in the UK. The experience of playing in front of thousands was both terrifying and exhilarating, but it fueled my passion even further. I then went on to study at Leeds Conservatoire, where I earned my Undergraduate Degree in Musical Performance, fine-tuning my skills and knowledge of guitar and performance.
In addition to my degree, I hold a Grade 7 in Guitar and have over 5 years of tuition from various respected guitar teachers, learning different techniques and styles that I now pass on to my students. After a few years in live performance, I made the decision to shift my focus into a career in marketing, but I never lost my love for music. It’s something that continues to burn inside me, and now, I’m passionate about passing on everything I’ve learned to others.
As a fully DBS-checked teacher, I aim to create a safe and supportive environment where anyone, no matter their age or skill level, can feel confident to explore their musical journey. I want to give others the same musical passion that my dad gave me and help you unlock your full potential as a guitarist. I’m excited to join you on your journey and look forward to sharing my love for music with you!
